Having received his mandate from God, Pastor Kalu obediently fulfills his calling as Pastor of Agape Church and New Covenant Christian Center. This man of God is a powerful preacher, an inspiration to others, and is totally dedicated to the work of God. He has a passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. Pastor Kalu has a contagious and charismatic spirit that flows through every facet of his personality and ministry. Pastor Kalu has a rich history as a leader in school and ministry to uplift the lives of others around him.
He brings 17 years of experience as a teacher, administrator, assistant principal, principal, and director in his field of education. Pastor Kalu has also worked in many areas of ministry including, but not limited to, the marriage, children, and sound booth ministries. He became a minister in 2012, an elder in 2014, and a pastor in 2022. It was evident that God had His hands on him as He guided him through his life of service.
Pastor Kalu obtained his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Francis Marion in 2001. He continued in his pursuit of learning by obtaining his master's degree in Education Administration from Cambridge College in 2007, and an Education Specialist degree from the University of South Carolina in 2021.
Pastor Kalu has been taught Proverbs 3:5-6, which states, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. This scripture is a constant reminder that he needs to be grounded in God and follow the will of God in his life. That willingness to go where God leads has brought him to his position as Pastor.
Pastor Kalu is married to one wife, Senior Pastor Shanell McNair-Kalu, who he loves greatly. He is also the father of three children; Carson, Emerson, and Greyson; who bring him great joy.
As a visionary, he has been working on new opportunities for Agape Church and New Covenant Christian Center to advance the ministry, build the community, and improve the wisdom of the saints. He believes that his legacy is rooted in giving his time, tokens, and talents to the work of the Lord.
